History and Background

Luxion was founded in Denmark in 2003 by the brothers Henrik Wann Jensen, a leading rendering researcher who received a Technical Achievement Academy Award in 2004, and Claus Jensen. Its rendering engine was first sold by Bunkspeed under the name HyperShot from 2007. After the licensing deal broke down, Luxion relaunched the software under its own name, KeyShot, in early 2010; the dispute with Bunkspeed went to arbitration and ended with a final award in March 2013.
