History and Background

Lumion is developed by Act-3D B.V., a Dutch company founded in Leiden in 1998 by two programmers and earlier known for its Quest3D engine. Act-3D turned its attention to architects and released the first version of Lumion in December 2010. LiveSync, which mirrors edits from modeling software into Lumion in real time, was added later for tools such as Revit and SketchUp.
