Eye of the Beholder II: The Legend of Darkmoon was released in 1992 by SSI and developed by Westwood Studios for the Commodore Amiga. It stands as one of the defining titles in the machine's legendary 16-bit software library, and remains a favourite among retro computing enthusiasts, demosceners and digital preservationists.
The sequel expands the dungeon-crawling adventure with more levels and improved graphics. It is a polished and challenging RPG.
On the Amiga, the game made full use of the machine's custom chipset â the Agnus blitter, Denise video processor and Paula 4-channel sound synthesizer â to deliver smooth, fast-scrolling 2D playfield graphics and rich sampled audio that set it apart from IBM PC DOS CGA/EGA systems and 8-bit home micros of its time.
